Aggression is part of sports and it depends on how it is being used, who is using it, and on who or what it is channeled to. There are sports that it is aggression that wins you games and not gentility. In life, it might not be accepted considering what it is used for and how it has been used.
According to the Psychology Dictionary, aggression is defined as a forceful physical, verbal, or symbolic action. In sports when a player or athlete is aggressive in sports that legalize it or require aggression to win, no one will be asking whether it was good bad, or harmful.
Aggression is the motivating drive and charge that a player or athlete gets within a split second to go all out to win the game. In boxing, rugby, martial arts, American football, in contact sports in particular, nobody cares about your personality whether you are an introvert or extrovert.
The aggression that is allowed in contact sports, can be rejected in life if caution is not added to it. Nobody says you should not express yourself but mind you, driving aggressively all in the name that you are trying to catch up with an appointment is not good at all as it can cost you your life or that of another person.
Yes, urgency is required in life but you cannot be aggressive without aiming for something that you want to achieve. While aiming for something you need to ask if it is good or bad or what you need now or if you are trying to force yourself to have something that is for the future.
Aggression is different from violence. Aggression is accepted in sports but violence in sports is a crime and should not be promoted.
Thank you.
