How to get rid of cockroaches naturally!

Have a lot of cockroaches at home? Here is a simple, cheap and organic tip to get rid of them.
The monsoons are undoubtedly a beautiful season, but with the rains come a variety of pests that are quite difficult to get rid of. One such pest is the cockroach. Known to cause diseases like urinary tract infections, digestive problems and sepsis, cockroaches are one kind of insect that are extremely resilient and almost immune to certain pest control measures. While there are a large variety of chemical agents that can be used to kill them, the health risks that come with these pesticides are innumerable. What’s more, if you have an infant at home the risk of them touching these chemicals and ingesting them are high. Apart from that — inhalation of the pesticides fumes and the risk of it contaminating food and water — can also lead to severe ill-effects. So, here’s a method to get rid of cockroaches naturally without resorting to pesticides:
Try using borax
Borax or boric powder (sodium tetraborate) is a naturally-occurring substance that is formed due to the repeated evaporation of seasonal lakes. A commonly-used material to keep insects away from stored rice, this powder also works wonders when it comes to keeping cockroaches at bay. Here’s how you can use it.

Take some borax or boric powder (borax works better and is easily available) and add it to an equal amount of wheat (roti ka aata). Mix the two components well and slowly add water till the mixture has a tick consistency (it should be of the same consistency you would use to make rotis). Now, take small pieces of this mixture and make tiny, marble-sized balls out of it. Then, apply this paste to the corners of cupboards and areas where you see maximum infestation of cockroaches. Remember that cockroaches tend to live in small gaps and holes around your house, therefore you can use this batter to clog-up those holes.
The best part about this mixture is that it is perfectly safe to use in the kitchen and is effective even three months after application. Remember to refresh the coat regularly and watch your home be cockroach free for good.

Disclaimer: Ingestion of borax can be dangerous, please make sure you keep it out of the reach of infants and young children. Owing to its properties, it could be harmful for adults as well. Please make sure you exercise caution while making and applying this mixture. Remember to visit a doctor if you notice any symptoms of borax ingestion.
